Privacy Policy

This policy explains how WIXTrac collects, uses, discloses and protects your personal information — including the location, video and telematics data generated by our devices and platform.

LAST UPDATED: 22 OCTOBER 2026

1. Introduction

WIXTrac ("WIXTrac", "we", "us" or "our") provides GPS tracking, video telematics and fleet-management products and services to customers in Australia. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

This policy applies to our website, our online platform and client portal, our mobile applications, and the tracking and camera devices we supply. By using our products or services, you agree to the handling of your information as described here.

2. Information we collect

We collect the information we need to provide and improve our services. This includes:

Account & contact information

Your name, business name, email address, phone number, postal and billing address, ABN, login credentials and the details you give us when you enquire, register, purchase or contact support.

Location & telematics data

GPS and related positioning data from your devices, including location, speed, route, trip history, ignition status, idling, harsh-driving events, fuel and temperature readings, and signals from connected sensors.

Video & audio

Footage, images and audio recorded by WIXTrac cameras and dashcams, including road-facing and cabin-facing video, AI-detected events (such as fatigue, distraction or collision warnings) and any clips uploaded to the platform.

Device & technical data

Device identifiers, SIM and connectivity data, firmware versions, diagnostics, IP address, browser and operating-system details, and how you interact with our website, platform and apps.

Payment information

Payment and transaction details needed to process orders and subscriptions. Card payments are handled by our payment providers; we do not store full card numbers on our systems.

3. How we use your information

We use personal information to:

  • provide, operate and maintain our devices, platform, apps and support;
  • show live and historical location, video and telematics data to authorised account users;
  • generate alerts, reports and analytics, and improve safety and efficiency features;
  • process orders, subscriptions, payments and warranty claims;
  • respond to enquiries and provide customer and technical support;
  • send service-related notices and, where permitted, relevant product information;
  • maintain security, detect and prevent fraud or misuse, and meet our legal obligations.

Where you use our products to monitor your own staff, drivers or assets, you are responsible for having a lawful basis to do so and for notifying the individuals concerned. WIXTrac acts as a service provider processing that data on your behalf.

4. Location, video & telematics data

Our services exist to capture and present location and video information, which can be sensitive. Account administrators control who within their organisation can view live and recorded data, and can configure recording, retention and alerting to suit their needs and obligations.

If you are a driver or employee of a WIXTrac customer, the business operating the device — not WIXTrac — determines how that data is used. Please contact that business for information about their monitoring practices. WIXTrac stores and processes the data securely on their behalf.

5. When we disclose your information

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose it to:

  • Service providers who help us operate — including hosting, connectivity, mapping, analytics, payment and support providers — under confidentiality obligations;
  • Authorised users of your account, and resellers or installation partners involved in supplying or servicing your devices;
  • Authorities or third parties where required or authorised by law, or to protect the rights, safety or property of WIXTrac, our customers or others;
  • A successor entity in connection with a sale, merger or restructure of our business.

6. Mobile apps

Our mobile applications (including the WIXTrac client apps available on the Apple App Store and Google Play) may collect information such as location, device identifiers, diagnostics and usage data to deliver tracking, live video and notification features. App-store platforms may also collect data under their own privacy policies.

You can manage permissions — such as location and notifications — through your device settings, though disabling them may limit app functionality. This Privacy Policy is the policy referenced by our app-store listings.

7. Cookies & analytics

Our website and platform use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, measure performance and understand how our services are used. On our website we use the following tools:

  • Google Analytics and Google Ads (Google): to measure visits and enquiries, and to understand which of our Google advertisements lead to enquiries.
  • Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, for Facebook and Instagram): to measure which of our Facebook and Instagram advertisements lead to visits and enquiries, and to show our advertisements to people who have visited our website.
  • HubSpot: to receive the enquiry forms you submit and link them to your visits to our website.
  • Microsoft Clarity: to record how visitors use our pages (such as clicks, scrolling and page navigation) so we can improve the website. Text you type into form fields is masked and not recorded.
  • Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights: to measure page performance. These do not use cookies.

When you arrive from one of our advertisements, we store the campaign details from the link (such as the advertising source and the Google Ads click identifier) in a first-party cookie for up to 90 days, and attach them to any enquiry you submit so we know which advertising was effective.

We do not sell your personal information. The events we send to Google and Meta record that a page was viewed or an enquiry was made; we do not send them the name, email address or phone number you enter in our forms.

You can control cookies through your browser settings; some features may not work correctly without them. You can also manage advertising personalisation through Google My Ad Center and your Facebook ad preferences, and opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. These providers handle data under their own privacy policies.

8. Storage & security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure — including encrypted connections, access controls and secure hosting. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a data breach occurs that is likely to cause serious harm, we will respond in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

9. Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers and infrastructure may be located outside Australia. In particular, the website analytics and advertising providers named in section 7 (Google, Meta, Microsoft and Vercel) may process data in the United States and other countries where they operate. Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

10. How long we keep it

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide our services, meet legal, accounting and reporting obligations, and resolve disputes. Location and video data are retained according to your account configuration and any applicable legal requirements, after which they are deleted or de-identified.

11. Your rights

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity, and some requests may be subject to exceptions under the Privacy Act.

If you have a privacy concern or complaint, please contact us first and we will investigate. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

12. Children

Our products and services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology or legal obligations. The current version will always be available on this page, with the "last updated" date shown above. Significant changes will be communicated where appropriate.
